Did you Know? Diamonds are formed the same way as coal

Diamonds and coal are formed from carbon. Carbon dioxide located about 160km beneath the surface of the earth is the source of diamonds. Coal is formed much closer to the earth's surface, about 3.5km down. When coal is mined, miners go right to the source where the coal is formed. Diamonds, on the other hand, are brought close enough to the surface to be mined by volcanic eruptions.
